Browse SMW properties. Category : Dota lead designers. Bruno is clearly extroverted. Icefrog is clearly introverted. It must be a pretty split personality Clark Kent-y shit going on for these two characters to coexist in the same person.
Also, being Icefrog takes much more time than people probably realize; time that Bruno simply doesn't have.
Yep, this is very much the essence of what I was pointing out by reminding people just how much time he spent on other projects, as well as living in Sweden for over a year.
He swiftly took off his new bronze colored suit revealing a muscular body of a blue frog, rushing to the rescue. Icefrog stopped posting of forums and such a lot because of all the hate mail and harassment he had to put up with.
I'd hardly say there's evidence to call Icefrog an introvert or an extrovert. Icefrog seems to follow the same line of thought to some degree. Then again, he posts stuff on chinese twitter so maybe he's not as introverted as Eul.
He was known to be very protective of his identity. He was briefly shown at ti2 and also works at Valve alongside Icefrog.
Neichus had an AMA on this subreddit where he said he is still in contact with Icefrog to share ideas. That's actually where the PL rework came from, Neichus mentioned that he wanted to and it happened less than a month later.
So I "actually believe it" if you want to put it like that. I find the evidence so far pretty convincing: Pros and Bruno talking in a patch analysis like Bruno is Icefrog.
Both liking Mangos. Both talking Chinese. LD getting a timeout after drunkenly joking around too much about Bruno being Icefrog.
Well, isn't the reason for that policy because it would be dangerous to have a Valve employee on such a public spot. If the connection is not known this is not a risk.
EDIT: I do not actually believe Bruno is Ice. Quite contrary I actually have pretty solid proof that he is not that I have posted before in these threads.
I just do not agree with above argument. The thing is, why even go through the charade of hiring him if he was already an employee for years?
Clearly if he had already been employed by them, he was able to do his job just fine while being 'undercover' as Bruno. It would make no sense to suddenly hire him officially.
My argument is basically that the only logical reason for them to officially hire Bruno is if he indeed was not already an employee of theirs - aka that he is not Icefrog.
If Icefrog was Bruno, then he would've been able to continue having a lot more freedom to continue doing things the way he did, had he not suddenly been made an official Valve employee.
Clearly if he had worked in this sort of 'undercover' style for so many years, it would be very strange for him to suddenly give that all up for no apparent reason.
It just strikes me as odd that there seem to be a lot of people who seem to really believe that Bruno is the frog, when at least to me, there's just so much obvious stuff that goes against the theory.
I know you also don't think they are the same person, but I'm just trying to explain my argument to you a bit more.
It just strikes me as odd that there seem to be a lot of people who seem to really believe that Bruno is the frog,.
There are few, if any, who legitimately believe that Bruno is Icefrog. What convinced me beyond doubt, was when during one of the patch note analyzes with Bruno he completely misunderstood a spell, not a small mistake, but the fundamental basics of the spell.
Obviously the real Icefrog would understand every spell inside and out. Just to play devil's advocate for a moment I don't actually think Bruno is IceFrog , I have a potential explanation for why he might have done that.
What if the normally aloof IceFrog created the flamboyant "Bruno" persona as a way to have fun being more involved in the Dota community, without being a target for balance-related flame?
Perhaps IceFrog appeared as Bruno just to try out the spotlight and see if he enjoyed the type of attention it brought.
Again, I think it's far more likely that Bruno is not IceFrog. However, if I wanted to believe they were the same person, that's how I'd counter your above argument.
Bruno is probably just what he appears to be: a man who landed his dream job building the game he loves, forcing him to make a hard choice and withdraw from the community.
Sure, it's a possibility. Thing is he had already gone pretty quiet and been less involved in events for a fair bit before he announced that he was going to Valve.
I don't think he would've needed the job at Valve in order to take a step back from being in the community spotlight.
This is generally what employment contracts and employee rulebooks are for. There's plenty of Valve employees in public positions anyway.
Hell; Bruno actually is one anyway regardless of if he is or isn't Icefrog. My two cents on the actual thing under discussion would be to simply put that Zyori was doing an interview with Bruno a long time back now and called him "Icefrog" and it seemed more Freudian than an intentional community troll and they both just carried on as if nothing happened and I'm fairly sure I'm the only one who noticed it happen.
How do you explain every time he has been wrong about something about Dota? Just pretending to be stupid? Icefrog isn't working alone anymore.
Maybe he is only working on balance while valve takes care of the rest. It might be easy to forget little interactions now and then. How do YOU explain LD getting a time-out after joking around too much or pros and Bruno referring to each other as if Bruno is Icefrog?

I played DOTA Allstars , and before that i think in W3. I never played it constantly, but I never knew that when I played that many years ago it would evolve into the biggest competitive and popular video game..
They definitely work but what's clearly missing are the big events where the top teams from each region can clash. Hopefully, will be a better year for Dota 2 and for everyone.

His involvement with the series began in , when he inherited the reins of DotA Allstars from "Neichus", who himself inherited it from Steve "Guinsoo" Feak. Developer(s): Valve. Also, if he actually was Icefrog, why the sudden need to make him officially part of Valve staff if he had been doing his job just fine this whole time without it being official? Even more strange in that Dota 2 is at a much less involved stage of development than before and only now does he officially move to Seattle? That makes no sense.
